On a segment of 8 km of the Pliva river, administrated by LTG Co., and more precisely saying, starting from the concrete bridge above Šipovo and upwards, till the spring, exist unique conditions for fishing in this part of Europe. Pliva river, with its extraordinary transparency and spectacular richness, represents a small piece of paradise for fly-fishing anglers. This sport becomes increasingly popular in our country like it is abroad and understands fishing on an artificial fly. After the capture the fish is released back to water, so that its life is prolonged and fishermen get more chances for good fishing in the future.
In the same time, the fish population does not diminish, but on the contrary, it increases, so that future visits to these marvellous waters donate new emotions and satisfactions. By the way, this sport had been practised even before the '90-ies, when, besides Yugoslav anglers, many fishermen from Italy, France and other European countries had been visiting the area. Some fly-fishing fans from a distant Mauritius waded in this territory, as well. The mission in promoting this sport is to re-establish the reputation and glory to the Pliva river.
The renewal of fly fishing in this first-class ecological environment certainly has been successful; downstream of the bridge over Pljeva, the quantity of fish has recently been enriched with about 10.000 young fish. Upstream, in the direction of the spring of Pliva, 8.000 pieces of trout of 20-25 cm may already attract fans of the sport. Our staff with its seriousness and perspicacity provides for these activities and improves constantly the fly-fishing conditions. Many visitors, like eco-tourists from the whole world, can testify for that. This form of recreational fly fishing and active relax is becoming increasingly popular, mainly among tourists eager to know places of beautiful scenery and to record them. And here, these beautiful places are plentiful.
